Preparation
- Marinate the beef with lemon juice, soy sauce, and ground black pepper for about 1 hour. Strain the marinade sauce and set aside.
- Fry the potatoes in a pan with oil until cooked. Set aside.
Cooking
- In the same pan, add margarine. Sauté the garlic until brown.
- Sauté the onion and bell peppers until soft. Add bay leaves and tomato paste; sauté for 2 minutes.
- Add the marinated beef and sauté until brown. Then, add the liver spread, tomato sauce, and marinade sauce. Sauté for 5 minutes.
- Add water and beef cubes. Cook until the beef is tender.
- Add star anise and sugar. Continue cooking until the sauce thickens and reduces.
Serving
- Serve with fried potatoes and rice. Add a sprinkle of grated cheese on top.
Notes
For extra tenderness, allow the beef to marinate longer if time permits. Adjust seasoning to taste, and add chili flakes for a spicy kick. Use fresh ingredients for best results.
