  • 2 pieces ripe bananas Use overripe bananas for the best flavor.
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 piece egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Can be substituted with gluten-free flour.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish.
  2. In a bowl, mash the bananas with a fork.
  3. Mix in sugar and melted butter.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla extract, and stir until well combined.
  5. In another bowl, mix flour, baking soda, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, stirring until just combined.
  7. Pour the batter into the greased baking dish.
  8. Bake for about 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Let cool before slicing.

Notes

Serve banana slices warm or at room temperature. They can be enjoyed plain, with ice cream, or with nuts and chocolate chips for additional flavor. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature or refrigerate for up to a week. Can be frozen for longer storage.
