  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
Wet Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Main Ingredients
  • 2 cups peeled and diced apples Use firm apples like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp.
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar Optional, for topping.
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter For drizzling on top.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and granulated sugar.
  3. In another bowl, mix milk, egg, and vanilla extract.
  4. Combine the wet and dry ingredients, then fold in the diced apples.
Baking
  1. Drop spoonfuls of batter onto the prepared baking sheet.
  2. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  3. Drizzle with melted butter and sprinkle with brown sugar if desired.
  4. Allow to cool slightly and dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Best enjoyed warm. Serve with icing or maple syrup for extra sweetness. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to two days at room temperature, or refrigerate for up to a week. For longer storage, freeze individually wrapped fritters for up to three months.
