Ingredients
  

Dough
  • 3/4 cup milk Warm, but not hot
  • 3 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 4 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 whole egg
  • 1 whole egg yolk
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 3 cups flour
Filling
  • 2 tablespoons butter Softened
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 6 strips bacon Cook until just crispy for extra crispiness
Frosting
  • 3/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1/3 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup confectioners sugar

Method
 

Preparation of Dough
  1. In a bowl, stir together the milk, yeast, sugar, egg, egg yolk, and melted butter.
  2. Add the flour and knead for 8 minutes until the dough is soft and elastic.
  3. Cover with a cloth and let it rise for 40 minutes.
Preparation of Filling
  1. While the dough is rising, make the filling by combining butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
Rolls Assembly and Cooking
  1. Roll out the dough to 1/4 inch thick, spread with butter, and sprinkle with half the brown sugar cinnamon mixture.
  2. Add the bacon slices and top with the remaining filling.
  3. Roll up the dough, slice it, and place the rolls in the air fryer basket.
  4. Set the air fryer to 300 degrees F and cook for 10 minutes.
  5. Reduce the temperature to 200 degrees F and cook for another 10 minutes.
Frosting Preparation
  1. While the rolls cook, make the frosting by beating together the butter and maple syrup in a stand mixer.
  2. Add the confectioners sugar and whip until light and fluffy.
Serving
  1. Top the warm cinnamon rolls with frosting and serve.
Alternative Method
  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Follow the steps for preparing cinnamon rolls, place sliced rolls on a baking sheet, and bake for 35 to 40 minutes.
  2. Remove from the oven, top with frosting, and serve.

Notes

Store Bacon Cinnamon Rolls in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. If freezing, wrap each roll in plastic wrap and place in a freezer-safe bag for up to 2 months. Reheat in microwave or air fryer.
