Method
Preparation of Dough
- In a bowl, stir together the milk, yeast, sugar, egg, egg yolk, and melted butter.
- Add the flour and knead for 8 minutes until the dough is soft and elastic.
- Cover with a cloth and let it rise for 40 minutes.
Preparation of Filling
- While the dough is rising, make the filling by combining butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
Rolls Assembly and Cooking
- Roll out the dough to 1/4 inch thick, spread with butter, and sprinkle with half the brown sugar cinnamon mixture.
- Add the bacon slices and top with the remaining filling.
- Roll up the dough, slice it, and place the rolls in the air fryer basket.
- Set the air fryer to 300 degrees F and cook for 10 minutes.
- Reduce the temperature to 200 degrees F and cook for another 10 minutes.
Frosting Preparation
- While the rolls cook, make the frosting by beating together the butter and maple syrup in a stand mixer.
- Add the confectioners sugar and whip until light and fluffy.
Serving
- Top the warm cinnamon rolls with frosting and serve.
Alternative Method
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Follow the steps for preparing cinnamon rolls, place sliced rolls on a baking sheet, and bake for 35 to 40 minutes.
- Remove from the oven, top with frosting, and serve.
Notes
Store Bacon Cinnamon Rolls in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. If freezing, wrap each roll in plastic wrap and place in a freezer-safe bag for up to 2 months. Reheat in microwave or air fryer.
