Method
Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, ground pork (if using), cheddar cheese, bread crumbs, milk, ketchup, mustard, egg, onion, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
- Transfer the meat mixture into a loaf pan and shape it into a loaf.
Cooking
- Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
- Let stand for a few minutes before slicing.
Serving
- Serve and enjoy! You can pair it with mashed potatoes, green beans, or a simple salad. For extra flavor, drizzle some additional ketchup or barbecue sauce over the top.
Notes
For added flavor, consider mixing in some cooked chopped bacon into the meat mixture. Make sure to not overmix the ingredients. Let the meatloaf rest for a few minutes after baking to help it hold its shape when slicing. You can store leftovers wrapped tightly in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, or freeze for longer storage.
