Preparation
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 baking dish.
- In a bowl, mix yellow cake mix and melted butter until crumbly. Press about 2/3 of the mixture into the bottom of the pan.
Assembly
- Spread apple pie filling evenly over the base.
- Sprinkle remaining cake-mix crumbs over the top.
Baking
- Bake for 30–40 minutes until golden and set.
Serving
- Whisk powdered sugar with milk until smooth, then drizzle over warm (or cooled) cake.
Notes
Store leftovers covered at room temperature for up to three days, refrigerated for up to a week, or freeze for up to three months. You can use homemade apple pie filling, and experiment with other spices for extra flavor.
