Apple Pie Filling Coffee Cake

Ingredients
  

Cake Base
  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
Filling and Topping
  • 1 can apple pie filling Chop apples for smaller pieces if desired.
  • 2-3 tbsp milk
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon Optional, for added flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 baking dish.
  2. In a bowl, mix yellow cake mix and melted butter until crumbly. Press about 2/3 of the mixture into the bottom of the pan.
Assembly
  1. Spread apple pie filling evenly over the base.
  2. Sprinkle remaining cake-mix crumbs over the top.
Baking
  1. Bake for 30–40 minutes until golden and set.
Serving
  1. Whisk powdered sugar with milk until smooth, then drizzle over warm (or cooled) cake.

Notes

Store leftovers covered at room temperature for up to three days, refrigerated for up to a week, or freeze for up to three months. You can use homemade apple pie filling, and experiment with other spices for extra flavor.
