Ingredients
  

For the rolls
  • 1 can crescent roll dough Can be substituted with puff pastry or pie crust.
  • 1 cup chopped apples Use tart apples like Granny Smith for best flavor.
  • 1/4 cup sugar Adjust based on the sweetness of the apples used.
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon Feel free to add nutmeg for extra flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice Enhances the apple flavor and prevents browning.
  • 1 tablespoon butter Dot on top of rolls before baking.
Optional toppings
  • to taste caramel sauce For drizzling before serving.
  • to taste whipped cream For topping if desired.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix the chopped apples, sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice together.
  3. Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles.
  4. Place a spoonful of the apple mixture at the wide end of each triangle and roll it up.
  5. Place the rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Dot each roll with a small piece of butter.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the rolls are golden brown.
Serving
  1. Serve warm, drizzled with caramel sauce or topped with whipped cream if desired.

Notes

Best served warm. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for 1-2 days at room temperature or up to a week in the refrigerator. Can freeze rolls before baking; thaw overnight before baking.
