Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a bowl, mix the brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in the milk until just combined.
- Fold in the diced apples gently.
- Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead it gently.
- Roll out the dough to about 1 inch thick and cut into circles or your desired shapes.
- Place the cut biscuits on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Baking
- Brush with egg wash and sprinkle with the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let cool before serving.
Notes
Apple Pie Biscuits are best served warm or at room temperature. They pair well with vanilla ice cream or caramel sauce. Store in an airtight container for up to two days at room temperature, or refrigerate for a week. Baked biscuits can be frozen; wrap tightly in plastic wrap.
