Ingredients
  

Fritter Batter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced Use sweet onions like Vidalia for better flavor.
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1 cup milk
For Frying
  • Vegetable oil for frying Ensure oil is hot enough before frying.

Preparation
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and pepper. Stir well.
  2. Add the milk gradually, mixing until a batter forms.
  3. Fold in the sliced onions until they are well coated.
Frying
  1. Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium heat.
  2. Drop spoonfuls of the onion batter into the hot oil.
  3. Fry until golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes each side.
  4. Remove fritters and drain on paper towels.
  5. Serve hot as a snack or appetizer.

Notes
