Ingredients
  

For the potatoes
  • 8 ounces baby gold potatoes Small to medium-sized for best texture and flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon melted unsalted butter Use a silicone brush for even application.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder Customize with other seasonings like paprika or Italian herbs.
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • to taste chopped fresh parsley For garnish, optional.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your air fryer to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, cook the baby gold potatoes on high until just tender, which takes about 5 minutes.
  3. Once tender, transfer the potatoes to a baking sheet and gently smash them down until they are about 3/4 to 1/2-inch thick.
Cooking
  1. Brush the tops of the smashed potatoes with melted butter. Season them with salt, garlic powder, and black pepper.
  2. Place the seasoned potatoes in the air fryer in a single layer. Cook them for about 10 minutes, or until they are golden and crispy.
  3. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired, and serve hot.

Notes

Leftover smashed potatoes can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the air fryer or microwave until warmed through.
