Ingredients
  

Mac and Cheese Mixture
  • 1 package 1 (7.25 ounce) package macaroni and cheese dinner mix
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 4 tablespoons margarine
  • 3/4 cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese Feel free to customize the cheese.
Coating
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 cup panko bread crumbs Can substitute with regular bread crumbs.
  • 1/2 cup seasoned bread crumbs
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Miscellaneous
  • Nonstick cooking spray For air fryer basket.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil and cook the macaroni pasta from the dinner package for 7-8 minutes.
  2. Drain the pasta and return it to the pot.
  3. Stir in the cheese sauce, milk, and margarine until well combined.
  4. Mix in the shredded Cheddar cheese until it melts completely.
  5. Refrigerate the mixture until it is firm, at least 2 hours or overnight.
  6. Scoop the mixture into 1 1/2-inch balls and place them in the freezer for 1 hour.
Cooking
  1. Preheat your air fryer to 350°F and spray the basket with cooking spray.
  2. Dip each ball in the beaten eggs, then coat it with the bread crumb mixture.
  3. Place the coated balls in the air fryer basket and cook for 6-8 minutes, turning once, until golden brown.

Notes

Serve warm as an appetizer or snack. They pair well with dips like marinara sauce or ranch dressing. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
