  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Can substitute with whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Wet Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup milk Can substitute with almond milk or other non-dairy milk
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Toppings
  • Powdered sugar or glaze For topping

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add wet ingredients to dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  5. Spoon the batter into a donut mold or shape into rings on parchment paper.
Cooking
  1. Place in the air fryer and cook for 5-7 minutes or until golden brown.
  2. Remove and let cool slightly.
  3. Dust with powdered sugar or apply a glaze as desired.

Notes

Best enjoyed fresh. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for 2-3 days or freeze for up to a month. Make sure not to overmix the batter, stir until just combined for the best texture. If no donut mold is available, shape by hand or use cookie cutters. Experiment with different toppings such as chocolate or sprinkles.
