Preparation
- Preheat your air fryer to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
- Pat the chicken wings dry with a paper towel.
- Combine all the ingredients for the dry rub and generously sprinkle it on all sides of the chicken wings.
Cooking
- Place the seasoned wings in the air fryer basket in a single layer, working in batches if necessary.
- Air fry for 20 minutes, flipping them halfway through.
- Remove the wings and brush BBQ sauce onto both sides.
- Return the wings to the air fryer and cook for an additional 5 minutes or until they reach an internal temperature of 165 degrees F (74 degrees C) and the BBQ sauce has caramelized.
- Let the wings rest for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
For extra crispy wings, ensure they are patted dry thoroughly before seasoning. Don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket for even cooking. Experiment with various spices and BBQ sauces for unique flavors.
