Ingredients

Pickles and Breading Mix
  • 2 cups dill pickle slices
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup Panko bread crumbs
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by draining the pickle slices and laying them on a paper towel-lined baking sheet. Pat the dill pickles dry to remove excess moisture.
  2. In a shallow bowl, combine the flour and Cajun seasoning and mix well.
  3. In a second bowl, add the eggs and whisk until smooth.
  4. In a third shallow bowl, mix the Panko bread crumbs, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
  5. Dip each pickle slice first into the flour mixture, then into the egg, and finally into the Panko mix, ensuring each pickle is evenly coated.
Cooking
  1. Arrange the coated pickles in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Depending on the size of your air fryer, you may need to work in batches.
  2. Air fry the pickles at 400 degrees for 10 minutes, flipping them halfway through the cooking time.
  3. After 10 minutes, check the pickles for crispness. If you want them crunchier, continue to air fry for an additional 1-2 minutes.
  4. Serve the Air Fried Pickles immediately for the best crunch.

Notes

Make sure the pickle slices are well-dried before coating them for better breading adherence. Experiment with different seasonings in the flour or Panko mix to customize the flavor. For a spicier kick, add more Cajun seasoning or some cayenne pepper.
