Preparation
- Start by draining the pickle slices and laying them on a paper towel-lined baking sheet. Pat the dill pickles dry to remove excess moisture.
- In a shallow bowl, combine the flour and Cajun seasoning and mix well.
- In a second bowl, add the eggs and whisk until smooth.
- In a third shallow bowl, mix the Panko bread crumbs, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
- Dip each pickle slice first into the flour mixture, then into the egg, and finally into the Panko mix, ensuring each pickle is evenly coated.
Cooking
- Arrange the coated pickles in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Depending on the size of your air fryer, you may need to work in batches.
- Air fry the pickles at 400 degrees for 10 minutes, flipping them halfway through the cooking time.
- After 10 minutes, check the pickles for crispness. If you want them crunchier, continue to air fry for an additional 1-2 minutes.
- Serve the Air Fried Pickles immediately for the best crunch.
Notes
Make sure the pickle slices are well-dried before coating them for better breading adherence. Experiment with different seasonings in the flour or Panko mix to customize the flavor. For a spicier kick, add more Cajun seasoning or some cayenne pepper.
